“I WILL ACCOMPLISH THE COMPLETION OF OGWASHI UKU DAM”. … Prince Ned Nwoko.
By Iroroh Frank
PRESENTING PRINCE NED NWOKO’S RESCUER PACKAGES FOR ANIOMA SOCIOECONOMIC EMANCIPATION:
THE OGWASHI UKU DAM
The idea of building a dam to supply water and electricity to communities in Anioma land was initiated by Prince Ned Nwoko, while he was serving as a House of Representative member, representing the good people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency (1999-2003).
The proposal for the dam, which was originally sited at Aniofu, Aniocha North LGA, was at the verge of approval at the Presidency when Prince Ned Nwoko handed the documents over to Pascal Adigwe, who succeeded him as a Rep of the Federal Constituency (2003-2007).
Pascal Adigwe on getting the approval, relocated the dam to Ogwashi Uku, Aniocha South LGA, his home town.
The dam has generated a lot of controversies more than any other project in Delta North Senatorial District. This controversies stemmed from claims and counter claims as to who attracted the project, who was awarded the contract to build it, what level of work has been done on the site, and most recently by claims from some self acclaimed engineers that the present site of the dam is not suitable for project.
The controversies surrounding the dam notwithstanding, if completed, the Ogwashi Uku dam is capable of supplying water and electricity to Ogwashi Uku and adjoining towns like Ubulu Uku, Ubulu Unor and Ibusa. This would solve the perennial water shortages in these communities and boost their electricity supply. These communities suffers the worst water shortages in Delta state and they have remained in total darkness for several years running.
The desire for his people to enjoy portable water supply and uninterrupted electricity, motivated Prince Ned Nwoko to initiate the dam project and lobbied for its approval.
But today, personal ego and greed have stalled the completion of the project.
The dam project is abandoned halfway and has become a temple altar for Hon. Pascal Adigwe to campaign and sermonized on his achievement, as a former Rep member, in every election year.
The sorry tale about this dam is that, when fully operational, it has the capacity to supply water and boost electricity supply to Ibusa, the home town of Mr Peter Nwaoboshi, the incumbent senator representing Delta North Senatorial District.
Mr Nwaoboshi remained deaf and dumb over the dam project. He has said nothing and has done nothing to see to the completion of the project.
What is most intriguing about this dam is the fact that Pascal Adigwe, who is taking credit for relocating the dam to Ogwashi Uku, and whose proxy company was awarded the contract to build the dam, now running eran for Mr Nwaoboshi is comfortable with his master’s inaction over the completion of the project as both of them feel comfortable using the dam for campaign rhetoric.
As a matter of emphasis, judging from the eran boy and master relationship presently existing between Pascal and Nwaoboshi, one expected the former to press on the later to used his influence as a Senator (if he really has any influence), to see to the completion of the project.
Just recently, as the 2019 election draws close, Pascal Adigwe has turned pastoral with the dam, sermonizing the imminent coming to life of it, all in a bid to hoodwink the people to believing that work is going on at the site. What a fable tale!
In October 2014, the then minister of Water Resources Development, Mrs Sarah Ochekpe, stated that the dam project was 60% completion and since then nothing has been done on the site. Hence in May 2015, Ogwashi Uku citizens had to protest a planned commissioning of the uncompleted dam by the past administration.
Presently, despite the political noisemaking by now ‘Pastor’ Pascal, the dam site is a pitiable sight to behold as it is overgrown with elephant grass with some of the buildings on it already dilapidated and craving in.
Photographs taken recently from the site by concerned Ogwashi Uku citizens, as pasted here, rightly attest to the true position of the dam.
While Pascal is on one beat selling lies and fantasies to Anioma people to drum up support for his Oga, Mr Peter Nwaoboshi himself has continued to move around snapping photographs with NDDC projects, taking credits for the projects executed by NDDC, as if he is the Managing Director of the Federal Government Intervention Agency.
Nwaoboshi who has not executed a single constituency project has remained indifferent over the completion of the dam project, a project that would have benefited his community the most.
This is one of the areas where Nwaoboshi scored F9 and why Anioma people decided to terminate his stay at the Senate, come 2019.
The dam project has exposed him as incapable of fighting for his people. It shows that he lacks the clout, the reach, the vision, the capacity and the charisma to influence any of the Federal ministries/ministers to complete existing federal projects in Delta North Senatorial District neither has he the wellwithal to influence the execution of new projects.
Nwaoboshi went to the Senate on egomaniac trip. He is a self confessed partisan politician and his mundane partisan approaches to leadership have cut him off entirely from the Federal Government Ministers.
Aside his fraudulent practices, that have brought shame to Anioma people worldwide, Nwaoboshi is deeply hated by all the federal ministers, boards and agencies.
This implies that he cannot whisper anything to their ears to request for their assistance in completing existing projects in the district or executing new ones.
His queer divisive and self-centered approaches to leadership are antithesis to Anioma socioeconomic development. He is a complete minus to Delta North and he has been rejected by the people.
Anioma nation needs a senator who will apply bipartisan approaches to tackle the developmental challenges facing the district, not a man who went to the Senate to create division for his personal aggrandisement.
Delta North needs a senator, who will see leadership as Governor Okowa is seeing it. Governor Okowa, as an opposition party Governor, has approached leadership on bipartisanship. Today he commands high respect in the Presidency and among majority members of the ruling party.
When people who have ideas of how things work are elected into leadership positions, the impossible happens. Governor Okowa’s magic hands have touched Delta state and the state is becoming a pride to all Deltans. He is able to accomplished the feat in a short time even with limited resources because he know how things work!
Prince Ned Nwoko, a visionary icon, is another great son of Anioma nation who know and understand how things work!
He feel so unhappy seeing that the project he fought so had to attract to his constituency because of its socioeconomic importance to the people, has become a drain pipe for greedy politicians to siphon public funds and turned to abandoned monument for their campaign rhetoric.
Some of these rubbish are the reasons why he embark on the Rescue Anioma Mission to the Senate, to RESCUE ANIOMA PEOPLE FROM SOCIOECONOMIC CHALLENGES, IMPOSED ON THEM BY IRRESPONSIBLE LEADERS. HE IS USING THE RESCUER TEMPLATE TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION.
On this particular dam project, the Star Prince has once again pledged to accomplish its completion and commissioning to serve the purpose for which it was approved.
GOV OKOWA-NED NWOKO is a combination that will work wonders in Anioma land.
Ned Nwoko, Yes!
