The charismatic and ebullient Delta north political enigma, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko, has stated that he believes in equity and fairness and urged Deltans to join hands with him to return Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for second term.
The global legal icon, who is the Vice Chairman of Delta State PDP Campaign Council, spoke at the launch of his OPERATION LET’S RETURN OKOWA 2019, held at his Mount Ned Nwoko Tourist and Resort Centre, Idumuje Ugboko, Delta State, Saturday 12th January 2019.
Speaking at the occasion which has stakeholders and the leadership of different groups in Delta State, in attendance, the Dike Anioma, said, “the election of Governor Okowa, from Delta north senatorial district as Governor of Delta State in 2015, was a clear indication of the genuine desire and will of the people of Delta State to harken to the strong agitation of the people of the district for powershift and embraced the principles of power rotation as instrument of ensuring equity, fairness, peace, unity and stability in the state polity.” This equity and fairness which have been imbibed by the people, demand that my brother, Governor Okowa should complete his 8 years tenure in office as it applied to his predecessors.”
He further said, “today the administration of Governor Okowa has given everyone hope in the State, we are all proud to be Deltans. The Governor is touching everybody and every parts of the State, so the concept of non indigene does not apply in Delta state, there is nothing like non indigene as far as Delta State is concerned because everyone here enjoys equal benefits, there is no discriminations.”
“His Excellency, my brother have done well and it is my burning desire to assist in returning him to office for a second term come March 2nd 2019 and I want you to join hands with me to make this desire a reality,” he pleaded.
The Vice Chairman of Delta State PDP Campaign Council promised to support and Mobilise the Focus groups and all concerned to join in the task of returning Governor Okowa for a second term in office.
“Politics in Nigeria is not not about PDP, APC, APGA, AC or any other party for that matter, it is about the interest of the people and our interests are been served by Governor Okowa. So, we should not assumed that the reelection of the Governor will be done by the Governor himself alone or PDP, no, it will be done by me and you, all of us and we must make sure it is done, to give him more time to complete and consolidate on the good work he is doing for us”, he charged the people.
Concluding his speech, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko said, “I will put up and fund a structure that will bring government closer to the people, to make everyone work together as one body so that we can enjoy the full dividend of democracy”.
Amongst the stakeholders, who were in the meeting were, Chief Festus Ochonogor, the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor and Chairman, subcommittee in charge of Focus Groups and Non Indigene, others included Hon. Leonard Esegbue, DG Ned Nwoko Campaign Council.
The leadership of the groups at the parley were those of the Focus Groups, Non indigene Groups, the Civil Society Groups, the clergy, the Comrade Community and the organised Labour in Delta State.
