The SSA to the Governor on Health Monitoring, Dr. Michael Nwoko pays an unscheduled visit to General hospital, Okwe.

Poised to deliver on his Assignment, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to his Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State on health monitoring, Dr. Michael Nwoko this morning paid an unscheduled visit the the Okwe General Hospital in Asaba, despite the heavy down pour.
As at 8:00am, Dr Nwoko and his team had arrived the Okwe General Hospital for an on the spot assessment and evaluation of the health care facility.
On arrival Dr. Nwoko was impressed that staff of the hospital were already seated at their duty post, and ready for the days job.
He began with the records department, he inquired to know how the records of the enrollees of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission are kept.
He was later taken round the various departments and clinics by the Zonal Medical Director, Dr. Mark Agadas in Company of other departmental heads.

Dr. Nwoko explained that his Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi A. Okowa places much emphancies on the health and well being of Deltans, which is the reason why Health is Paramount in his programs and policies.
Dr. Nwoko also noted that the goal is to bring quality, accessible and affordable health care closer to the people and not the people going for it, therefore monitoring, evaluation and continuous accessement is inevitable.
The ZMD of the Hospital, Dr. Mark Agadas commended the SSA for his proactiveness adding that this is the first time he is seeing a very vibrant and dynamic SSA to the Governor in action in this regard and promised to work closely with him through the Hospitals management board in order to achieve the desired goal.
The SSA to the Governor, whilst thanking the ZMD and the entire staff for their good work urged them to put in more efforts in order to ensure a fully functional system and in turn effective health care delivery for all Deltans in line with the Stronger Delta Agenda of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. He promised to communicate their challenges to the Governor for necessary action.
The SSA, Dr. Nwoko and his team later proceeded to the Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency where they were received by the Director, planning, research and Statistics, Dr. Gloria Ferife. The visit was to foster effective collaboration with the agency in the effective monitoring and evaluation of Primary health care facilities across the State. Dr. Gloria Ferife promised the full support of the Agency in the discharge of the duties assigned the SSA by His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State.
