BACK TO SCHOOL INITIATIVE
HON. PRINCE NED NWOKO COMMENDS AYND
Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko, a former Member of House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has commended the leadership and members of ANIOMA YOUTH NETWORK FOR DEVELOPMENT (AYND), for their lofty initiatives of organising a BACK TO SCHOOL programme for the less privileged in Delta North region.
Hon. Nwoko made the commendation over the weekend when he chaired the distributions of hundreds of education materials donated by the AYND on the occasion of the lunch of BACK TO SCHOOL programme by the NGO.
The international legal icon cum rural Tourism and Education Development investor described youths as the future of any society and argued that their potentials must be properly developed through sound education for the benefit of the society.
The great Anioma philanthropist who spoke through his representative at the occasion, Mr. Chike Henry Okolo, also advised on the need for society to take the education of the youth very seriously saying that the youths represents a healthy, sound and developed future of the society, emphasising that for any society to have a sound projection for the future, she must place great premium on the education of her youths.
Prince Ned Nwoko buttresses his point with a statement by the late renowned African leader and freedom fighter, Nelson Mandela that, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Hon Nwoko further asserted that no society can experience enduring peace, political stability and other reasonable development without good education for her citizens.
He therefore urged Governments, philanthropic organisations and individuals in the area to emulate the good initiatives of Anioma Youths Network for Development by making sacrifices to support the education of the less privileged in the area.
Hon. Ned Nwoko also used the forum to restate his total commitment to impacting the lives of the people of the area through annual educational support to the less privileged especially in the rural areas through his foundation, THE PRINCE NED NWOKO FOUNDATION.
The President and convener of Anioma Youth Network for Development (AYND), Odita Sunday, expressed his appreciation to Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko for his invaluable contributions towards the success of the day’s programme.
Mr Odita stated that the advice and the substantial financial support from Hon. Ned Nwoko helped the group immensely to drive the programme home successfully.
Highlights of the occasion were the distributions of the education materials to the beneficiaries by Chike Henry Okolo and other dignitaries at the occasion and the presentation of an award of Exemplary Leadership in Anioma and Nigeria in general to Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko by the group
