It follows that for government to deliver on its “social contract” with the electorates; citizens must play their roles in nation building by way of paying taxes, obey legitimate laws and orders, partner with government on socioeconomic remodelling policies and programmes as well as jointly attract local and foreign investments for sustainable job and wealth creation.

Social welfare is therefore an integral part of the “social contract” which every responsible and responsive government anywhere in the world must strive to consistently implement to improve the living standards of the people and at the same time spread the commonwealth for the prosperity of citizens.

Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, is seen by majority of Deltans as a visionary leader because of his giant strides especially in road infrastructure development, job and wealth creation via YAGEP and STEP Initiatives supervised by the Bureau for Job and Wealth Creation in the State.

The good intentions of the Edevbie group is premised on the need to partner with this administration during the lockdown on the one hand, and the strong desires of their political leader, Olorogun David Edevbie, to align himself with citizens plights by providing palliatives to cushion the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in Delta State.

“What my political associates and followers are doing right now to cushion the effects of the stay at home order, is to align with our people and show them that we care for their safety and good health. I am particularly happy and I know that His Excellency the Governor is also very excited that our state is clean and free from the pandemic. To God be the Glory.

“It is therefore very necessary for us to ensure that the state remained clean from Covid-19. I urge all Deltans to support the governor and the state government by adhering strictly to the stay at home order. It is the right thing to do under the prevailing circumstances.
