Delta Sets For Third Games Victory.

Delta State contingent to the third National Youth Games holding at University of Ilorin, Kwara State, have been urged to put in their best to ensure that the State win the Games trophy for keeps.
The called was made by the Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa while addressing Athletes and Offcials during a victory prayer session shortly before the team departed to Ilorin on Thursday.
Chief Tonobok Okowa who is the Team’s “Charge de mission” employ the Athletes not to allow other State take the trophy from their hands saying that the Sports loving Governor of the State, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa will be in hand waiting to receive the trophy from them on their arrival from the Games.
Meanwhile the minister of Youths and Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung has informed the Athletes that those who excel in the Games will be invited to Camp in preparation of African Youth Games and other International Youths Games coming up later in the year. The minister made the assurance at opening ceremony of the event which took place at the University of Ilorin Stadium, Saturday.
The opening ceremony of the event featured match pasts by 23 States and FCT who are taking part in the Championship.
Delta State is the Games defending champion, she won the 1st held at Lagos and the 2nd edition held at same UniIlorin last year. A third victory will mean that the State will have the trophy for keeps.
