By Jerry Onwuma

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on health monitoring, Dr Michael Nwoko on 30/10/2019 received in his office, the organizers of “The Face of Anioma Unity Beauty Pageant”

The convener of the group, Mr. Okonkwo Cally, informed the SSA that they were in his office to intimate him of their forth coming beauty pageantry program for 17th November, 2019 and solicit for his support towards the success of the program. He thanked the SSA for receiving and encouraging them.

Receiving the youths, Dr. Nwoko stated that he is a lover of the youths and also a lover of Anioma culture, he encouraged them to put in their best in their chosen career, noting that programs of such nature can go a long way in not just promoting and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Anioma people, but also helps to engage them and in turn check the spread of social vices amongst the youths.

He stated that it is the youths that are in involved in crime and other social vices in the society, and so there is the need to engage them in more meaningful ventures such as cultural and social programs, skill acquisition etc… noting that a “busy mind will not have the time to plan evil”.

Going further, Dr Nwoko said he is a lover of youths, and takes interest in mentoring the youths, and he has other friends who are also lovers of youths and the Anioma culture, and promised to get them involved.

The SSA further posited that the Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation has helped to create and sponsor laudable youth and cultural programs for the purpose of touching lives in line with it’s vision which is philanthropy through Education, Health, Sports and Tourism. “I will do my best to also attract the support of the Foundation for the program”

With time, we will look for ways of greater collaboration so as to do more with respect to engaging youths in meaningful ventures and consequently reducing crime in the society he addded.
