With the 2019 elections just around the corner, no doubt the political atmosphere across the Country is tensed, Political experts and analyst are of the view that next year’s general elections will be one of the toughest and unpredictable moments in the political history of Nigeria, especially being that it’s the first general elections to be conducted by the APC led Federal Government!
While uncertainty seems to be an undeniable fact as to who takes over the mantle of leadership from the government at the center to virtually all the states participating in the 2019 general elections.
For us back here, talking about Delta State, one thing is certain, and that is;
“GOVERNOR OKOWA’S RETURN TO POWER IN 2019 AND THE EMINENT VICTORY OF THE PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY, PDP,” “AS A RESULT OF THE GOVERNOR’S UNCOMMON SELFLESS LEADERSHIP STYLE”
This was the stand point and opinion of the Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa(Special Duties) on Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr Michael Nwoko, in an interactive session with some newsmen in Asaba over the the weekend!
Dr. Nwoko said, his excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has performed excellently well, He stated that Deltans from all walks of life are well pleased with the verifiable and numerous achievements of Governor Okowa, as such they will massively return him to power in 2019 with their votes as a way of saying thanks for a job well done.
According to Dr. Nwoko, the reward for good work is more work. The Governor has started very well and he is doing excellently well with the amount of very laudable projects and programs spread equitably across the twenty five local government areas in the State.
“If you make a careful and critical analysis of what we see now in the State and what it used to be, you will no doubt agree with me that, Governor Okowa has achieved in three years what previous Governors could not achieve in eight years, even at a time when funds accruable to the State was far less than what was obtainable in the previous years”.
“Like I postulated earlier, He is a Governor with an uncommon selfless leadership dexterity, he is a good listener, he listens to the yearnings and aspirations of his people”.
“His landmark achievement in road construction and rehabilitation has earned him the name ‘THE ROAD MASTER”.
“Asaba, the State’s capital and its environs down to the rural and riverine areas of the State are all experiencing massive road construction and rehabilitation, thereby connecting them to the urban centres, which in turn have resulted to a boast in the social and economic life of the our dear State. His achievement in the Health sector is novel with the establishment of the Delta State Contributory Health Scheme which has been able to guarantee affordable, accessible and quality health care for all residents of the State”.
“Today, the Stephen Keshi Stadium is wearing a new look, the new ultra modern Office complex of the Head of Service has been completed and commissioned, the beautiful state of the art Delta State Electronic Library has been completed and commissioned, the Multi billion Naira Modern State Secretariat is on going. These are to me what is called endearing legacies that only a right thinking Government can leave behind”.
On the forth coming party primaries, Dr. Nwoko said, “Governor Okowa has reiterated that he will ensure a level playing ground for all aspirants in the party primaries, thus guaranteeing a free and fair primaries in order to ensure that only very popular, marketable and generally accepted candidates emerge in the party primaries so that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP can come out victorious in the 2019 general elections as the Party cannot also afford to lose her best candidates to opposition parties”. He concluded.
