Oghenesivbe Bags Most Outstanding Political Aid to Gov. Okowa Award.
…Dedicates Award to God, Gov Okowa And Urged Deltans to Support the Governor For A Stronger Delta State.
Immediate past Executive Assistant to the governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has been honoured for his vast communication skills, as he bagged yet another prestigious Award.
The dogged media supremo was decorated with a medal, as one of the “Most Outstanding Political Aide to the Governor of Delta State,” Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, during the first tenure, haven previously bagged the Delta Oil City Media Icon of Year 2018 Award.
The Award, an initiative of the board of Rescue Mission Social Media Association of Nigeria (RMSMA), coincided with the 60th birthday anniversary celebration of governor Okowa.
President of RMSMA, Blankson K.O. Harold said Oghenesivbe rose through the ranks in Media and Political Communication sphere to become a living legend, whose inestimable skills and professional expertise cannot be faulted by any right thinking Nigerian; except his political detractors and those deliberately envious of his dogged dominance of the mainstream and social media terrains, in the discharge of his assigned responsibility.
The group noted that from the very moment Oghenesivbe assumed duty as EA Communications to governor Okowa, he practically and professionally redefined the style of communication best suited for the projection of policies, programmes and achievements of government while adhering to standards.
RMSMA said the opposition political parties recognises the pragmatic and superior fire power of Oghenesivbe in strategic communication, counter and diversionary propaganda in governance and constitutional democracy; a terrain reserved for highly creative resource persons in the industry and in advanced democracies.
Harold posited that the capacity of Oghenesivbe in communication and media, is what any government requires in modern day governance and in partisan politics, and urged governor Okowa to be weary of those envious of the skills and tenacity of his pioneer EA Communications.
Presenting the Award on behalf of RMSMA, Hon Hope George said, of a truth, Oghenesicbe’s proficiency in his field as a renowned Media and Political Communication strategist is well known to Deltans, Nigerians and the Okowa administration.
“The sagacity of the awardee, who consistently dished out well researched articles and news materials to project and propagate policies, programmes and achievements of Okowa administration, is once again appreciated and recognised by RMSMA. Its indeed heart warming,” George said.
Responding after receiving the award, Oghenesivbe thanked the organisers for recognising his efforts as a team member of governor Okowa’s first tenure, especially in the media and communication units.
He said working for the state and governor Okowa as EA Communications was an eye opener in terms of scheming through the “fencing and barricades” crafted by some sophisticated individuals as a measure of resistance to his appointment in 2017, because of his background as a dogged communicator with little or no respect for unholy compromise.
“I enjoy what I do and I am not bothered by the unholy scheming of my political detractors and those jittery because of my presence in the system.
“I am a one way loyalist and do not issue return ticket on appointment. I hate one leg in and one leg out in carrying out assigned responsibilities, hence I commit all within me to do the needful towards attainment of goals and targets.
“Its possible to step on toes in the discharge of duties but that in itself must be examined along other variables and circumstances so as to truly determine the advantages and disadvantages of actions and inactions.
“I am so delighted that this award came from within the social media family, and as such becomes the true position of my contributions since assumption of office as pioneer EA Communications to governor Okowa, till May 29, this year.
“I deeply appreciate governor Okowa for all the support he gave me, particularly for approving funds for the first ever Political Communication Workshop in the state since 1999.
“The workshop was indeed a unique three day intellectual exercise for which 142 instead of the budgeted 100 media and communication persons benefited in terms of capacity building.
“I am ready and willing to continue to serve the state and the governor in whatever capacity at any time called upon to do so.
“It was a privilege to tap from the visionary leadership of governor Okowa, a patriotic Nigerian with uncommon passion for the socioeconomic remodelling of Delta State and by extension Nigeria.
“I urge the good people of Delta State, to join hands with our amiable governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for the actualization of a Stronger Delta State, going forward,” Oghenesivbe added.
