By Jerry Onwuma.

The Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa (Special Duties) on contributory health commission, Dr. Michael Nwoko, has enumerated reasons why, his Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa should be voted in again by all Deltans come 2019.

Dr. Nwoko made known in a short media chart yesterday 23/01/18 in his office.

According to him, his Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa had so far performed credibly well to the disappointment of his detractors.

He took time to enumerate the many achievements of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and why Deltans need to reelect him come 2019.

On the area of road construction and infrastructural development, Dr. Nwoko said, over twenty one(21) roads projects have been completed, while another fifty six(56) road projects is seriously on going, all spread across the the 25 local governments areas of the state.

According to him, construction work is in top gear at Okpanam road, the road which before now was almost a complete write off, and you know that, that’s where majority of the worker’s in Asaba reside, the road which when completed anytime soon will be a major relief to residents of that area.

If you drive through federal medical center, FMC, up to uzorigwe primary school and across access bank, you will be amazed, to see the level of massive construction work going there, giant pipes are been buried and the aim is to put to an end the the problem of perennial flooding usually witnessed during the rainy season along Direct Labour Road, DLA, Jesus saves and the environs.

On going constuction of Asaba drainage control

The Stephen keshi stadium is receiving serious attention, as serious work is on going in the site and it’s scheduled to be completed in about few weeks from now ahead of the 2018 African Athletic competition.

There are multi million naira projects going also going presently, the ultramodern central Secretariat complex, the multi million naira mechanic village, the central hospital off Okpanam road, Asaba, these are all star projects, and I make bold to say the state is witnessing an unprecedented giant developmental strides.

On the area of resources management, Dr. Nwoko described the Governor as a prudent resource manager, in his words,

” I will say Governor Okowa is a prudent manager of resources, even with the high short fall in federal allocation and state internally generated revenue, he has maintained prompt payment of workers salary. Just last year, when other states are owing workers salaries, the Governor paid December salaries to workers in the state before the Christmas”.

In terms of health care, Dr. Nwoko said Deltans have never had it so good, he said, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, being a medical doctor understands the importance and value of quality, affordable, accessible health care, hence the quick signing of the contributory health commission into law, and today residents of the state can assess quality, affordable health care any time, any day any where within the state.

Dr. Nwoko, further said that come 2019, Ifeanyi Okowa remains the best bet haven delivered the dividends of democracy equitably to all Deltans.

According to him, if we do our political arithmetic very well, we will come to the irresistible conclusion that Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa remains the only viable candidate come 2019, Delta North must complete their eight years tenure in office, he therefore urged all Deltans to rally round Okowa and give him their full support in 2019.
