PRINCE NED NWOKO DESERVES TO BE CELEBRATED AT 60 — DR MICHAEL NWOKO.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Health Monitoring, Dr Michael Nwoko joined friends, fans and well wishers of Hon Prince Dr Ned Munir Nwoko to wish the Antarctica explorer, a happy birthday. The occasion was a book launch in honour of the living legend and Prince of philanthropy as he entered the Diamond club.
Speaking at Hotel Benizia, Asaba, venue of the book launch, Dr Michael Nwoko stated that Hon Prince Ned Nwoko deserves to be celebrated at 60 and took the audience around some record breaking accomplishments of the charismatic international legal luminary, who at the youthful age of 24, owned and operated the largest black Law firm in the heart of London, the United Kingdom.
Dr Michael Nwoko recounted other numerous feats of the
phenomenal Hon Prince Dr Ned Munir Nwoko, to included:
Election into the Federal House of representative to represent the good people of Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, from 1999-2003, at the age 39, where he sponsored 21 bills, within a short span of 4 years, which was an extraordinary feat as a first timer;
He pioneered the struggle for the political emancipation of Anioma region by offering himself to serve the State as governor in 2003;
As a private citizen, Hon Prince Ned Nwoko worked tirelessly to expose and end wrongful loan deduction practices among Nigeria’s multinational lenders and his efforts yielded huge dividends to the country which culminated in the popular Paris Refunds, the refunds helped to save many States and LGAs from economic insolvency;
He has devoted his time and resources to advance Education, Culture/Tourism, Sports, Health and Environmental preservation in Nigeria;
He has offered close to 2000 indigent students scholarship to study in both secondary and tertiary institutions across the Country;
As a means to develop the Tourism subsector of the Nigerian economy, he built the Mount Ned Nwoko Tourist and Cultural Centre, Idumuje Ugboko. The centre attracts close to 10,000 visitors to Delta State annually, thereby helping to improve the local economy of the State;.
He is currently building the first sports university in sub Sahara Africa, the proposed STARS University, Idumuje Ugboko. The university houses an International Golf Course and Sports complex. When completed, it will host many national and international sports events. The university will boost sports development and education tourism in Nigeria;
Concerned about the devastating impacts of the scourge of malaria on life and economy of Africa, Hon Prince Ned Nwoko launched, ‘Let’s Eradicate the scourge of Malaria in Africa project’ the audacious project took him to the lowest end of the world, the Antarctica and South Pole making him the first Nigerian to visit the white desert;
He is also funding malaria vaccine research development in some African Universities;
Presently, he is collaborating with the Federal, States and Local Governments in Nigeria to embark on physical and chemical elimination of mosquito which is the vector of the malaria parasite;
Dr Michael Nwoko concluded reeling the extra ordinary track records of Hon Prince Ned Nwoko by saying, ” Hon Prince Ned Nwoko continues to be a source of hope and succour to thousands of people across the globe , who requests and troops to his homes in desperate need of financial assistance, and he always feel sad if his bankers delay the remittances of such money to the people. Hon Prince Ned Nwoko believes in giving, hence he is called the Prince of philanthropy.
So today been his 60th birthday, we have decided to celebrate him, because by his record breaking achievements, I can say rightfully that he deserves to be celebrated at 60.; Dr Michael Nwoko concluded.
The Author of the book, Mr Gaius Obi Nwoko stated that the book, Old Tales At Dusk was written to bridge the gap of none existing African children’s literature and that it was written with Igbo and Anioma characters. In addition to animal characters found in Anioma land. He stated that the book was being launched on the 60th birthday of Hon Prince Ned Nwoko, as a mark of honour in recognition of his spectacular life accomplishments.
Chief Dele Omenogor the Odogwu Adi Abuor of Ogwume, who was the Chairman/guest of honour of the occasion, described Hon Prince Ned Nwoko as a brave and courageous man adding that he was happy to associate with him and glad to be part of the book launch to celebrate and honour him.
The ever bright ladies dance group of Asaba treated the audience with exotic dance steps.
The highlight of the occasion was the cutting of the birthday cake which was performed by
Dignitaries at the occasion.
