RE: IN OUR DUTY AS DESCENDANTS OF OBI NKEZE & OMORHUSI NWOKO OF IDUMUJE-UGBOKO¤l
We read with utmost disappointment and unbelief ,an article with the above subject on the social media and therefore deemed it necessary to correct the distorted and misleading information purportedly written by descendants of Obi Nkeze and Omorhusi of Idumuje-Ugboko.
Ideally, Men of goodwill should not waste productive time responding to such mischievous piece but for the purpose of setting the records straight before the public.
It is generally a known fact that there has been unfortunate crises rocking Idumuje-Ugboko for over 5 years with much disaffection, bitterness and animosity among key stakeholders resulting in maiming and destruction of property. These violent acts had been perpetrated by armed bandits constituted by Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko and his cronies who are determined to carry out vendetta against innocent people of goodwill in the community with a view to enthroning an emperor in the person of Crown Prince Chuckwunonso Nwoko as King of Idumuje-Ugboko without recourse to the laid down traditional protocol.
The bogus claim in the publication that members of the Nwoko family have been silent during the crisis raises a lot of questions as to the actual source of the article. It is on record that members of the family, ‘Umu-Nkeze and Umu-Omorhusi Nwoko’ have been making frantic efforts to resolving the underlining issues since the eruption of the crises in 2015.
Several peace meetings have been held since 2015 till date and many notable persons who are neither members of the Nwoko family nor from Idumuje-Ugboko have also made efforts to ensure that peace returns to the community .
The Owa peace Accord which was brokered by a team of highly respected Traditional rulers in Anioma Land led by His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, the Obi of Owa Kingdom and Chairman of Delta State traditional rulers forum with inputs from some members of the Nwoko family and stakeholders from Idumuje-Ugboko is still very fresh in our memory.
It is laughable to read the malicious claim in the publication that “the only event with any controversy in Idumuje-Ugboko as well as Nwoko Royal Family within the last 2 years all root to Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko”. We make bold to state that if there is any one who is truly committed to peace in the Nwoko Royal family and Idumuje-Ugboko,that personality is Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko. To further demonstrate his desire for peace to return to the community, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko had attended all peace meetings aimed at the resolution of the nagging debacle.
These include meeting conveyed at the instance of His RoyaL Majesty Ogbogidi Obi Albert O. Nwoko III MON JP at Idumuje-Ugboko palace on the 8th of Nov. 2015, meeting by Umu-Nkeze on the 30th of May 2016 in Asaba, meeting conveyed at the instance of AIG zone 5 in Benin City on the 1st of June, 2017 among others
It is of public knowledge that Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko and his cronies had often refused to honor invitation to some of the peace meetings particularly the one conveyed by the Chairman of Aniocha North Traditional Rulers Council scheduled to hold at the palace of the Obi of Idumuje-Unor, HRM Obi Charles Chukwunweike Anyasi III on the 11th of June, 2017 wherein all the traditional rulers in Aniocha North LGA were to attend. The meeting was eventually called off because Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko called on the eve of the meeting to inform them that he would not attend anymore. Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko refused to adhere to the resolutions of the meetings of Umu-Omorhusi Nwoko Royal family and Umu-Nkeze Nwoko which held at the Palace and Asaba respectively. It is on record that the Circumstances surrounding the crises at Idumuje-Ugboko (post 2015-2016 crises) had to do with court cases instituted by Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko against Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko and subsequently complaints made by those whose properties were destroyed during the mayhem as well as the family of the innocent motorcycle rider who was killed in the palace during the crises. These persons have a right to complain and cry for justice due to the huge loses they suffered in the course of the gory violence.
Again, the claim in the mischievous publication that “Prince Ned Nwoko has ungratefully usurped our family name”, clearly shows how shallow and ignorant the authors are over the custom and tradition of Idumuje-Ugboko. Those who are knowledgeable in the traditions of Idumuje-Ugboko kingdom will understand that not only Patri-lineal descendants are entitled to Princely privileges, heritage or to success, fame and other legacies bequeathed to princes of the kingdom.
However, to state that Prince Ned Nwoko does not deserve Princely privilege is outright expression of hate, jealousy and crudeness by Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko and his cohorts. They must come to the reality of the saying that “Whoever God has blessed, no man can curse”. Prince Ned Nwoko’s rise to fame and success is the divine will of God and no amount of conspiracy or discontent by agents of darkness and regression can pull him down or distract him from his philanthropic gestures which has impacted on millons of lives positively.
The spurious claim that Prince Ned Nwoko put up an application for 93 hectares of land sometime in 2015 without stating the obvious fact that 90 hectares of land was applied for and duly allocated to Linas International on the 16th of July, 2015 by HRM Ogbogidi Obi Albert O. Nwoko III MON JP the Obi of Idumuje-Ugboko is not only ambiguous but a calculated attempt to hoodwink readers and undermine the authority of the king whose legacies in peace and security in the community can never be forgotten. It is worthy of note that on the 10th of April,2015, HRM Ogbogidi Obi Albert O. Nwoko III MON JP, the Obi of Idumuje-Ugboko wrote to Linas International through Prince Ned Nwoko confirming the decision of the community to allocate 90 hectares of Land to Linas International. It is no gain saying the fact that Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko out of personal hatred, envy and jealousy, have been fighting to reverse the land allocated to Linas International by the late Obi of Idumuje-Ugboko for the purpose of establishing a sports University. This is a highly provocative and sacrilegious act responsible for the crises in the community today and those involved should be wary of the wrath of God and the ancestors.
It is a shame and total deception to state in the misleading publication that “Umu-Ologbo” had reached a resolution to expel Prince Ned Nwoko from the family as it is not possible to expel any member of the Royal family from the community. It is only a ploy by Crown Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko and his cronies to express and demonstrate their mischief on the person of Prince Ned Nwoko which was vehemently resisted by people of goodwill and those who fearlessly stand for truth in the community.
It is absurd that the authors of the publication,in their desperation to smear the image of Prince Ned Nwoko tried in futility to link to the terrorism and murder cases involving Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko and some members of the community. We will not dwell on those matters as they are presently in court and under investigation by the police . But let it be stated for emphasis without fear of contradiction that Prince Ned Nwoko is neither a complainant nor an aggrieved party in those matters. The complaints were made by those whose properties were destroyed and family of the innocent motor cycle rider who was killed in the palace during the crises.
For the records,it is obligatory to elucidate on the communique issued by the committee of traditional rulers in Anioma Land led by His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, the Obi of Owa Kingdom for the peaceful resolution of the crises in Idumuje-Ugboko. This is to correct the distorted information captured by the authors of the mischievous article.
The communique states:
1. That all cases in court relating to the dispute in Idumuje-Ugboko be withdrawn with immediate effect, Also, the new case or the petition should be accommodated
2. That HRM Obi Nonso Nwoko and Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko having agreed to close ranks before the mediators should resume cooperation with a view to advancing the peace process
3. That the counsels to the disputing parties should as a matter of urgency work out modalities for the cases, petitions to be withdrawn and report to the committee. Taking into consideration that royal Fathers have placed a curse against continuation of all cases and petitions in Idumuje-Ugboko.
4. That all the Chiefs of Idumuje-Ugboko should resume their respective duties in the kingdom immediately.
5. That all cases of banishment, fines and pronouncement are hereby rescinded and should not be repeated in the future.
6. That all parties to the dispute are bound by this resolution.
Suffice it to say that in accordance with the Owa peace accord and the communique, complainants have so far withdrawn suit No:
A/36/2017 – Christopher Ogwu & ors vs Chukwunonso Nwoko & ors from the high court at Akwukwu-Igbo but Chukwunonso Nwoko is yet to withdraw any of the cases he instituted with his cronies against Prince Ned Nwoko in court. Instead they hired one Azuka Jebose and Chief Chris Biose to unleash campaign of calumny and baseless propaganda against Prince Ned Nwoko and therefore undermine the Owa Peace accord. The accounts they have given so far on the Idumuje ugboko dispute had been biased, misleading and provocative portraying a hatchet job of bare faced falsehood . To demonstrate commitment to the Owa peace Accord, the complainants also did not object to the bail application for Okey Ifejioku in the terrorism case against him in suite No: FHC/ABJ/CR/11/19 at the Federal high court 7,Abuja presided over by Justice Okong Abang which led to Okey Ifejioku’s bail.
There are nagging Questions for Chukwunonso Nwoko: why has Chukwunonso Nwoko and his cronies failed to honor the Owa Accord? Why have they refused to withdraw the cases they instituted in court against Prince Ned Nwoko? Why have they refused to allow the Chiefs return to their duties as contained in the Owa peace Accord communique?
The essence of this publication is to draw the attention of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Members of Idumuje-Ugboko community and the general public to the recalcitrance of Chukwunonso Nwoko and his cronies to peace and peace process in Idumuje-Ugboko and further state that all the crises rocking the community since 2015 had been endlessly perpetrated and funded by Chukwunonso Nwoko and few persons who have inordinate ambition to become Iyase and Odogwu of Idumuje-Ugboko . This is the main reason Chukwunonso Nwoko had refused the Chiefs who are integral component of the Obi-in-council from functioning.
In conclusion, let it be known that the mischievous publication did not emanate from members of the Nwoko Royal family but those fanning the embers of discord. Unfortunately their choice of words and penchant for distorted facts connote beating the drums of war instead of towing the path of peace. The content of the publication amounts to hate speech and knowing full well the legal implications, it came as anonymous and unsigned. It is advisable they unmask their identity and let us meet in court.
We do interact with members of the Nwoko Royal Family and people of good will from Idumuje-Ugboko community on a regular basis and they have come to the conclusion that we have reached a threshold where all parties must sheath their sword and embrace peace.
Those who are not committed to peace should therefore give way for those ready to create an enabling environment for peace to thrive in Idumuje-ugboko Kingdom.
Prince Ned Nwoko particularly stands for PEACE in his beloved Idumuje – Ugboko because he is a pacifist. He has promoted the Family name more than those mischief makers whom have done nothing all their lives that is worthy of note and recognition.
We call upon them to be grateful to Prince Ned Nwoko and hide their combined failures.
With the passion and tenacity of Prince Ned Nwoko for the common good of all, we are confident that peace will reign soon in Idumuje ugboko to the betterment of our land and the glory of God.
CONCERNED UMU-OMORHUSI NWOKO ROYAL FAMILY MEMBERS.
