UNESCO To Collaborate With Prince Ned Nwoko On Malaria Eradication.

In continuation of his audacious campaign to eradicate the scourge of malaria in Nigeria, vis-a-vis Africa, the initiator of Project ‘Let’s Eradicate Malaria In Africa,’ Hon Prince (Dr) Ned Munir Nwoko, has taken the campaign to the regional office of the United nation’s Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, in Abuja, Nigeria.

The rare African patriot and his ‘Let’s Eradicate malaria In Africa’ delegation was Thursday 20, February, received at the UNESCO office by the Regional Director of global body, Dr Y. D. O. Yao.

At the end of their discussions, which centered on the prevalence of malaria in Africa and it’s endermic effects on the growth, development and promotion of Sports, Education, Culture and Tourism sub sectors of the African economy, the organisation’s director consented to the request by the delegation for a closer and strengthened collaboration with the Project, to wrestle the scourge of the parasite in Africa.

Speaking during the meeting, Prince Ned Nwoko, draw the attention of the organization to the prevalence of malaria in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, which he said accounts for the loss of about 500, 000 lives in the country annually, mostly children and pregnant women. Thus making the disease, the single most deadly disease in the country.
The management of the parasite, he said, places huge burden on the fragile economy of the country, both at individual and government levels.

The Prince of philanthropy further enlightened the organization on the toll of the scourge of malaria on Education, Sports, Culture and Tourism development in the country and stated that the disease can be eradicated.

Drawing examples from countries that are malaria free, Prince Ned Nwoko, told the regional world body, that eradicating malaria in Africa is doable and very possible. He therefore sought a strengthened collaboration of the organization with the Project, to eradicate the deadly disease in the country.
In his response, the UNESCO regional director, Dr Yao, assured the Project delegation of a closer ties and collaborations to fight the menace of malaria in Nigeria.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the picture of Prince Ned Nwoko hoisting the Nigerian flag at the Antarctica and Project’s ‘Let’s Eradicate Malaria In Africa’ t-shirts to the Director.

Meanwhile, in his bid to enlightened the oNigeria general public on the malaria eradication campaign, Prince Ned Nwoko also featured on Radio Nigeria Current Affairs Program, where he throw more lights on the possibility of eradicating the scourge of malaria in Nigeria.
